Spring Break 2015: Brugges, Belgium

After missing our train to Belgium, David and I decided to accept that this was an adventure.  We quickly learned how to cancel tickets (even though we missed the train, we could get a refund on our tickets by cancelling tickets), purchase international train tickets in a foreign country, and make friends with English speaking employees to get to our destination.  We finally made it to Brugges a few hours after we had originally hoped.  Brugges is an amazingly beautiful city from the time of the Templar Knights and Crusades.

Selfies as we wait on the train

All aboard!

Playing a game of trouble on the way

Amelia fell asleep 10 minutes before we came into the station to change trains.  Having her sleep in my arms is a RARE occasion, and I love every minute of it!

Cathedral of the Holy Blood (Amelia's favorite thing about Brugges)

This is supposedly a relic of Jesus' blood on a cloth.  Amelia was obsessed with looking at it.  She started calling this church The Jesus Died church.  Since we traveled during Holy Week, I guess it was appropriate to talk about the Easter story.

CHOCOLATE!

Belgian Waffles in Belgium

This is a HUGE chicken made out of chocolate!

Our cab driver on the way back to the train station is a famous pool player who came home to Belgium after an injury from a car crash.
Next stop....Paris!
