A Faeire Picnic

A few weeks ago, Amelia received an invitation to attend a Faerie (yes, that's the correct spelling) Picnic in the Kinnebrew Woods.  The faeries warned that she wouldn't be able to see them, but they would be watching and leaving treats for her to find.  The invitation asked that she dress up as one of them or as a creature from the woods, such as gnomes.

The morning of the picnic finally arrived, and Amelia was excited to be able to dress up.  She decided that she would be the Owl Faerie.

She had to wear her Hello Kitty rain boots, because there had been a shower earlier this morning.  Good thing she wore them, because there were great puddles walk through!
We arrived at the Kinnebrew home and met our church friends.  Amelia was given a bag to tie around her waist to collect the treasures that the faeries and gnomes left for her.

The children gathered around and waited for Mrs. Pam to lead us through the woods.

We went on a nature walk down the path that the faeries left for us.  At times, we had to stop to find the treasures (marked with faerie dust) to add to the collection bag.

Through the trees, we could see something special that was left for us.

We arrived at the end of the path to find a beautiful picnic set up.

Amelia LOVED the food at the picnic and went back SEVERAL times to get more.

We had such a wonderful time with our church family during this special event for the children.  Amelia now has many treasures left to her from the faeries of the Kinnebrew Woods.  The colored rocks were her favorite, but she said the best part of the day was the picnic.

  1. What a fun idea! I think Amelia the Owl Faerie was the prettiest one of all.
