The morning of the picnic finally arrived, and Amelia was excited to be able to dress up. She decided that she would be the Owl Faerie.
She had to wear her Hello Kitty rain boots, because there had been a shower earlier this morning. Good thing she wore them, because there were great puddles walk through! |
The children gathered around and waited for Mrs. Pam to lead us through the woods.
We went on a nature walk down the path that the faeries left for us. At times, we had to stop to find the treasures (marked with faerie dust) to add to the collection bag.
Through the trees, we could see something special that was left for us.
We arrived at the end of the path to find a beautiful picnic set up.
Amelia LOVED the food at the picnic and went back SEVERAL times to get more.
We had such a wonderful time with our church family during this special event for the children. Amelia now has many treasures left to her from the faeries of the Kinnebrew Woods. The colored rocks were her favorite, but she said the best part of the day was the picnic.
What a fun idea! I think Amelia the Owl Faerie was the prettiest one of all.
