Happy 4th Birthday, Amelia!

Amelia is 4!  I can hardly believe it!  I look back on her baby pictures and wonder how this could have happened so fast.  We began birthday celebrations with a class party the last week of school.  I sent cupcakes and Frozen paper products for her school friends to help celebrate during snack.  They let her wear the birthday crown and be the line leader for the day.  Her teacher sent me some pictures of their snack.

The next celebratory event was lunch at my grandparents' house for the family members who have June birthdays.  Amelia was extremely excited!

Amelia's third celebration was a party at our house.  Amelia wanted a "Frozen" theme, so I went with more white and light blue, since I'm not big on characters.  Amelia helped prepare for the party by dipping pretzels, strawberries, and marshmallows in chocolate.  She was a BIG help and had TONS of fun with the chocolate.  I'm not sure how many "quality control samples" she tried, but she kept telling me she had to eat just one more to make sure it tasted good.

We had themed food to go with the movie, a decorate your own crown craft, a bouncy house and ball pit, and Amelia was able to wear her Elsa dress.  She had such a great time.  A former student, Sarah Kane, took the pictures for the party.  It was nice not having to run around with a camera around my neck!

Amelia also helped me make her Elsa cake.  She LOVED that she could keep Elsa after we cut the cake.

Amelia requested a "Frozen" bicycle from Poppy and Paw Paw.  She was so excited to see it!

After a the party and a nap, Amelia decided to take her bike on its maiden voyage.  She couldn't believe that she had a big girl bike!

A little training wheel adjustment from Daddy.

First bike wreck happened right after first bike ride.  No blood and no crying!

Daddy checked out Amelia, and Aidan checked out the bike.  No injuries to either party!

After a little instruction from Daddy on paying attention, Amelia was back on her way!

Amelia's actual birthday is today on a Monday.  I woke her up singing "Happy Birthday" and took her to the McWane Center to play for the morning.

Amelia made me this delicious lunch at the "diner".

The pizza is for Daddy even though he couldn't come with us today.

Showing off her Etch a Sketch art.

After spending two and a half hours playing, we met Daddy for lunch at the Red Pearl.  Chinese was definitely in order for her birthday lunch.  Amelia thought she was so big drinking a few sips of hot tea.  She told us she liked pouring it as much as she liked drinking it.  Her favorite part of the meal was eating David's leftover Mongolian Chicken sauce that contained jalapenos.  She didn't eat the jalapenos, but she kept adding the sauce to her chicken with rice noodles.  Next time, we will just order Amelia the Mongolian Chicken with white rice (she prefers white and not fried).

Amelia has become a really great reader!  She is looking for sight words in a word search while we wait for our lunch.

Once we finished lunch, we stopped by the eye doctor's office.  Amelia had an appointment last week and has to get glasses, because she is near-sided in her right eye.  They had to order some frames to fit her face, so we went to let her pick one of them out.  Aren't they so cute!  They have ordered her lenses, and she should be wearing them full time in a week or so.

After a much needed nap, we all went on a bike ride around the neighborhood.  She loves her new bike and was almost giddy that Mommy and Daddy could ride their bikes with her.  For dinner, Amelia requested to be able to eat at Full Moon.  Paw Paw joined us, since Poppy was at the beach.  I think she had a great day!  For her birthday, we are getting her a full size bed for her room.  We are just waiting on the mattress right now before putting everything up.  Amelia wants all three of us to be able to get in bed with her when we say prayers and read books at night.  I'm pretty excited about it myself!

Happy birthday, Sweet Amelia!  Daddy and I love you so much!
