Kitty Car Bites the Dust

Daddy and Amelia were enjoying a nice morning outside last Saturday.  Amelia asked to drive Kitty Car, so Daddy took her to the cul-de-sac for a cruise.  Unfortunately, Kitty Car didn't make it back home.  She stopped working.  Daddy checked to make sure the battery was in working order and quickly found that there was an issue with the wiring to the on/off switch.  After much tinkering, it was determined that the Kitty Car would not be coming back to life.  Good thing Santa left a receipt in case there was an issue with Kitty Car.  Amelia bid the car goodbye, and Daddy left on a return and replace mission to the store.  He called Amelia to break the news that there were no more kitty cars.  He explained that Kitty Car had to be replaced by a different car and gave her three choices - a pink jeep, a white car, or a red car.  Surprisingly, Amelia chose the white car.  We were pretty shocked about it, but she was adamant that she wanted the white car.  I have to say that Amelia loves this car more than she loved Kitty Car.  It has WAY more power, and she is able to drive up the grassy hill on the empty lot behind our house.  Her sweet little legs were too short to reach the pedal, so Daddy rigged her up an extension.  It works like a charm.  Amelia needed some time to learn to drive with more power, but after the first few times, she has the hang of it.  This new car is now named White Car or Amelia's White Car according to the girl.  Everything she has gets a descriptive name.

The new car has two seats, so Amelia is able to collect rocks on her drive and place them in the passenger seat.

Down the hill...

Baby Hadley

My sweet niece, Hadley Rae, made her arrival this morning at 8:32 a.m.  She weighed in at 6 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long.  Mom and baby did great!  We were able to meet Hadley this afternoon and introduce her to her big cousin, Amelia.  Amelia was thrilled to meet Hadley and enjoyed holding her.  Hadley slept the entire time and was so precious.  We are excited that she is finally here!

I'm just sharing far away group shots until I get parent approval for close-ups. :)

A Day at the Playground

Today, we enjoyed a beautiful day at the playground.  Amelia had a great time enjoying the spring weather.

My strong girl is actually swinging on this bar.

As you can tell by the look on Amelia's face, she still does NOT like to swing.  We were trying out swinging "a baby bit" as she says.

Amelia decided she liked swinging on her stomach best.  I had visions of her skinning her face on the ground, but I let her try it out anyway.
